Spatial and temporal dynamics of habitat quality in response to socioeconomic and landscape patterns in the context of urbanization: A case in Zhengzhou City, China

With the rapid development of urbanization, habitat quality (HQ) in urban areas has been eroded. This phenomenon is destroying balance ecosystems, triggering reduction biodiversity and decay ecosystem service functions. The study relationship between urbanization HQ Zhengzhou City beneficial for reference sustainable ecological planning management. Based on landscape classification data socioeconomic three years, this analyzes spatial correlations pattern factors HQ, compares dynamic changes explanatory power different factors, explores joint effects multiple factors. results show that: (1) overall value index decreased by .10 during 2000–2020, mainly occurring suburban areas, with a small amount improvement core protection, such as mountains river channels. (2) autocorrelation all influencing increased period, while negative impact from socio-economic sources was stronger than positive patterns. (3) Intensive human activities lead to single type, which reduces HQ; rich types complex composition can enhance HQ.
